           HALVOR LINES HISTORY

Bill by truck Halvor Lines, Inc. was founded in 1968 by Bill Vinje and 4 partners, (all owner-operators) to haul snowmobiles and related products for Halvorson Equipment Co. of Duluth, Minnesota, a distributor for Bombardier Corp.
of Quebec, Canada.

This was the era of regulation and over the next 10 years Halvor Lines had obtained I.C.C. authority to haul for several shippers, and also transport exempt commodities throughout the United States and Canada.

By 1977 Halvor Lines, Inc. had a fleet of 40 tractors & 50 trailers, and Bill had purchased his partners' interest in the company.

Since deregulation in 1980 Halvor Lines, Inc. has increased its customer base with the addition of several major shippers throughout our service area. This has afforded us the opportunity to increase our fleet to 390 tractors and 900 trailers.

Bill passed away July 2001. Halvor Lines, Inc. continues to be a family run business. The management team is lead by Jon Vinje: President, and Lori Vinje-Pint: Vice President.

We have incorporated modern technology such as state of the art computer systems, mobile communication, and late model transportation equipment with a great work force to be one of the premier carriers in the nation.

We plan to continue our endeavor with controlled growth and superb service for a long and prosperous future.
