Kenworth Plant in Chillicothe, Ohio,
Celebrates Historic 250,000th Truck
Halvor Lines Receives
2006 Model T600 with New Cab Interior
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio, May 24, 2005 –
Kenworth Truck Company’s
manufacturing plant in Chillicothe, Ohio,
recently celebrated the production of its
historic 250,000th truck, a new 2006 Model
T600 with a new cab interior featuring
world-class quality, ergonomics and
durability.
The 250,000th truck is an aerodynamic,
fuel-efficient Kenworth T600 with 72”
AeroCab® sleeper for Halvor Lines Inc. of
Superior, Wis.
“We’re proud to achieve the production of
250,000 trucks at the Kenworth plant in
Chillicothe,” said Tony McQuary, Kenworth
assistant general manager for operations.
“This significant milestone is a tribute to
the hard work, dedication, and strong
commitment to quality that Kenworth
employees at Chillicothe have shown since
the plant was opened in 1974. Kenworth
congratulates them on their daily efforts to
build the World’s Best trucks for
outstanding customers like Halvor Lines,
which rely on premium Kenworth trucks to get
the job done.”

During a special ceremony attended by plant
employees, Halvor Lines president Jon Vinje
was presented with the keys to the new
Kenworth T600 by Kenworth-Chillicothe plant
manager Scott Blue, Kenworth Truck Company
general sales manager Bill Kozek, and Larry
Soule, general sales manager of selling
dealer Rihm Kenworth in St. Paul, Minn.
“It’s quite an honor for Halvor Lines to
receive this very special 250,000th Kenworth
truck built by the plant employees at
Chillicothe,” said Vinje. “We appreciate
their efforts and especially thank them for
providing premium Kenworth trucks that help
make our operations successful.” Vinje noted
that the new Kenworth T600 will go to one of
the senior drivers at Halvor Lines.

“It’s also a nice bonus to receive the 2006
Kenworth T600 model with the world-class,
new cab interior,” continued Vinje. “The new
interior looks great and we think our
drivers will appreciate the many new
enhancements and standard features that
Kenworth added to provide even greater
comfort and productivity.” Kenworth’s new
cab interior also is currently available on
its W900 and T800 models.

Halvor Lines operates 235 Kenworth trucks
and hauls refrigerated units and vans
containing food and paper products to the
East and West Coasts and also runs flatbeds
to transport construction materials. The
company plans to purchase 100 Kenworth T600s
this year. “We really like the Kenworth T600
for its great fuel efficiency, durability
and resale value,” said Vinje, who was
accompanied to the ceremony by his brother
Joe Vinje, and sister Lori Vinje-Pint, both
vice presidents of Halvor Lines, which was
founded in 1968.
The Chillicothe plant is Kenworth’s largest
manufacturing facility. In addition to the
T600, the plant produces the Kenworth W900,
T800 and T2000 models. “Our goal is simple:
