What does a dry van driver do?
At Halvor Lines our dry van drivers’ division transport a wide variety of goods, from non-perishable grocery items to furniture. We have a no touch freight operation, which means our dry van drivers do not load or unload the freight. That lets them focus on driving.
Do dry van drivers need a CDL?
All commercial drivers need specialized licenses. At Halvor Lines, we transport dry goods in 53-foot trailers, so all of our drivers must have a Class A commercial driver’s license. If you don’t have a CDL but want to get one, check out our Halvor Gold CDL Training program. You earn guaranteed weekly pay while training.
Do dry van truckers load and unload trailers?
The answer varies depending on the company you work for. Halvor Lines is a no touch freight operation, which means our drivers do not load or unload dry van freight.
What kind of salary do dry van drivers earn?
Salaries for dry van truck drivers vary widely based on the number of miles a driver chooses to drive each week, base pay rates, and whether or not their employer offers any bonus or incentive programs. Halvor Lines’ top drivers earn an average of $81,000 a year.
Is Halvor Lines a dry van trucking company?
Yes. Dry van is the largest division in our fleet – but we also handle refrigerated, flatbed and deck van transport. Many drivers who start in our van division eventually try working in these divisions as well.
Does Halvor Lines have a dry van company terminal near me?
