Dawn has always been driven to succeed – but when paralegal training landed her in an office cubicle, workdays closed in around her. “Sitting there, I felt like I was trapped in a box,” she recalls, “I knew I needed more freedom, needed to do my own thing.”
That's when Dawn decided to follow in her father's footsteps and become a professional truck driver. She enrolled in Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) training at the Truck Driver Institute (TDI) in Sanford, FL. Soon after, she enrolled in Halvor’s paid OTR Finishing Program.
In just two years, Dawn has quickly progressed from trainee to owner operator. She recently purchased her first truck – a Peterbilt 389 - through Halvor’s lease purchase program. She’s confident in her decision, thanks to stable weekly miles and the mentoring and support she’s received from Halvor staff and other experienced drivers.
If you’d like to hear about Halvor Lines directly from Dawn, she shares her thoughts here.
