Truck Driver Benefits

Benefits are a key part of your truck driver compensation package. Halvor offers a comprehensive range of benefits, from health insurance to paid vacation and 401Ks. If you want additional information on Halvor’s benefits (and we hope you do!) please reach out to a Halvor recruiter.

Health Insurance – Health insurance is offered to full-time company drivers through Health Partners, which connects drivers to a network of healthcare providers and services across the United States.
Vision Insurance – Coverage includes one annual eye exam as well as coverage for glasses and contact lenses.
Dental Insurance – Halvor Lines covers 100% of dental insurance premiums for full-time company drivers. Coverage is provided through Delta Dental; includes two annual checkups and a number of dental procedures (deductibles apply).
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) – Save money on medical and child care expenses with an FSA, which allows you to use pre-tax dollars for qualified medical expenses (like prescriptions and copays) and qualifying child care (usually day care).
Paid Vacation – Based on average annual earnings and years of service. Available to full-time company drivers.
401K – Halvor Lines offers a 401K (Pre-Tax and ROTH options) with employer match to qualifying full- and part-time company drivers. Eligibility starts after 6 months of employment. Employees are fully vested after six years.
Life Insurance – Halvor covers the premiums for $20,000 in life insurance coverage for all full-time company drivers. This includes coverage for accidental death and/or dismemberment. You can purchase additional coverage when you sign up for benefits or during the annual enrollment period.
Group Accident Insurance – Accident Insurance pays a set benefit amount based on the type of injury you have and type of treatment you need.  It covers accidents that occur off the job from common injuries to more serious events.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – Need help writing a will or finding a lawyer? Looking into nursing homes for a loved one? Maybe you need to talk to a mental health professional about personal or work-related stress. All of these services and more are available to full-time company drivers through Halvor’s EAP program, which is managed by Unum.
Access to a Wellness Coach and Workout Equipment – Halvor Lines employs a full-time health & wellness coordinator, who can help you with everything from customized fitness and nutrition plans to smoking cessation and stress management. We also provide free in-cab workout equipment and have workout equipment available at our main terminals.
Passenger and Pet Program Pets and passengers are welcome in experienced company driver’s
trucks from day one. Recent trainees can have pets from day one and passengers after 90 days.
Flexible Home Time – We know home time is important – and that it means something different for every driver. That’s why our dispatchers work closely with each driver to provide route opportunities that match their home time needs.
Assigned, late-model tractors – Drivers spend a lot of time in their trucks, and many drivers consider them a home away from home. When a driver joins us, they are assigned a specific tractor for their use. We are also consistently adding new trucks to our fleet, ensuring that drivers have safe, modern and reliable equipment.
Career advancement / Opportunities for additional income – Company drivers have a number of options to advance their careers and earn additional income at Halvor Lines. These include becoming driver trainers, participating in bonus programs and moving into terminal-based training or office positions. Talk with a recruiter to learn more.

"One specific dispatcher"

“As a new driver, I loved having one specific dispatcher that I worked with…so you have the consistency of working with the same person to help you with all your questions.”
